Transport Options - Important Information!

There are many ways to travel to the America’s Cup Village. Please make sure you read through each option below to understand what and when to book your transport.

Dedicated Event Ferries direct to the America's Cup!


The fastest and easiest way to get to the America's Cup Village is the dedicated America’s Cup ferry from Hamilton Ferry Terminal, to and from the America’s Cup Village.

This involves the least amount of walking, it’s the coolest option and it’s more eco-friendly!   

On weekends, dedicated direct America’s Cup ferries are also available from and back to St. George’s.

Make sure you pre-book both the departure AND your return ticket times, to make sure you've secured your ride. Your tickets are ONLY valid on your scheduled departure times!

If you're driving into Hamilton to catch the ferry, we recommend parking in Bull's Head Car Park for all day parking for $5 Monday to Saturday (normal payment arrangements).

America's Cup Ferry Times and Tickets

IMPORTANT: Sailing is by nature unpredictable. In the event that racing is delayed or additional races are added in extending the race period, then the ferry schedule for runs departing from the America's Cup will also be delayed by the same timeframe, in order to make sure that you can watch the races.

Bike parking is FREE and there’s plenty of it. This is an ideal option for locals.

Motorbike parking is near the America’s Cup Village, just a short walk to the entrance. 
Taking the ‘pink and blue’ bus to Dockyard is another good option.
Regular Bus routes: Number 7 and 8 take you all the way from Hamilton to right beside the America's Cup Village. These routes pass all the major South Shore hotels, and there will be additional capacity added at peak times for events.

This is regular public transport so it's first come first served with normal tickets and fares. You can of course use your existing bus pass.


Regularly scheduled public ferries will also leave from Hamilton and St. George’s on the regularly scheduled Marine & Ports Blue route and Orange route. See the regular schedule here.

You can then hop onboard a free shuttle train from in front of the Clocktower Mall, over to the America's Cup Village. Alternatively,  you can walk over (its about a 15-minute walk).

Park n Ride

Due to restricted parking availability, private cars will have restricted access to Dockyard on America’s Cup race days from 10:30am to 4pm (2pm to 8pm on the Opening Night 26th May).

A road check point is in place just after Boaz Island, at Greys Bridge, from 10:30am each day the America's Cup Village is open. If you are visiting Dockyard for shopping, restaurants or other Dockyard business, you will be allowed through if there is sufficient space in Dockyard. Dockyard is open for business as usual.
All accredited vehicles and public services vehicles, including taxis, minibuses and public buses have full access to Dockyard and will not be stopped at the checkpoint, as well as all motorbikes/scooters.

Residents on the Dockyard side of the check point will be issued accreditation by Wedco. The application form can be downloaded here:

If you are driving to the America’s Cup Village, parking is charged per car, and includes your return shuttle service for everyone in your car - so we strongly encourage you to carpool to reduce congestion, reduce your cost per person and improve the sustainability of the event. When you book, please specify how many people will be in your car and whether you require accessibility needs on the shuttle.

America’s Cup Park n Ride Tickets

Park n Ride is $25 per car including all passengers, when booked in advanced. If booked 24 hours or less before parking, the charge is $30.

The closest parking is at Boaz Island and when that is full, you will be automatically booked in to the next closest parking areas in Somerset.

Shuttle service is available from each area, on a 15-minute loop, either by ferry or minibus (includes accessibility needs).

You can also take advantage of the public drop and go dock on the southern face of the America's Cup Village to drop off any passengers, before anchoring in the bay by Grey's Bridge (between Lefory House and Boaz Island). You will then be able to book a water shuttle to get the Captain to the dock. The dock will close 1 hour before racing begins, so get there early.

A private water shuttle service is being planned, with pick-up from anywhere else on the island for drop off to the America's Cup Village.

If you’re planning to watch the racing from the water on a private boat, or use the public drop and go dock, that boat will need a spectator flag. You can register here.

What you can take to the America's Cup Village:
Like every international sporting event, people and bags will be screened upon entering the America’s Cup Village. For safety and other reasons, you are limited in what you can and can't carry with you. The lighter you travel, the faster you'll go through the screening process.

There are some things you’re encouraged to bring and other things that are forbidden.

The America’s Cup is a sustainable event and you’re encouraged to carry a water bottle to refill at the hydration stations. No single use plastic bottles are allowed though!

What NOT to take:

What might seem normal for a day out in Bermuda may not be allowed in the America's Cup Village, for instance, no chairs or folding seats, no coolers, no food or beverages, no luggage, no bicycles, roller-skates, skateboards, scooters, wheeled footwear (including children’s shoes) or any other motorised or non-motorised vehicles. Baby carriages are permitted. Please note the restriction on camera lens size.

It is important that you do not carry these items because they will be permanently taken from you at the entrance. To avoid disappointment or frustration, travel light and share this information with others.
